About

Krista Leigh Pasini is a classically trained dance artist and postmodern choreographer working with somatically informed performative inquiries, historiography, and movement ontology. Her research weds an extensive technical training with poetic gestural patterning, which she integrates into her role as an educator and choreographic collaborator. As co-director of HaltForce Art Collective, Krista facilitates and produces performance driven artist residencies and education opportunities currently on the high plains of Apsáalooke Territory in Eastern Montana. Pasini's creative versatility blends dance, performance art, sound art, and theater into site specific events and immersive installations.

Choreographic Inquiry and Musings

Krista self produces two to four performance works per year and collaborates with artists and organizations of varying mediums to present interactive installations, and theatrically staged performances. Her work also melds with comedic performance art and ekphrastic creative processes.
Much of her creative inquiry stems from a curiosity nested in movement ontology - a philosophical pondering of movement
"I find the economy of my movement, no matter how large or small, infers subtext, and communicates a choreography of language and memories. This physical dialogue is both tacit and mercurial, and in the moments I am able, I am compelled to distill this vocabulary into fluid and halted sequences. This is a rich foundation for creative inquiry and physical storytelling; one that unfurls movement signatures and secret authors to create poetic stories." Krista Leigh Pasini 2019
