rhizomatic inquiry​

indicating a network that "connects any point to any other point"

I consider the root system of an aspen tree when I think about my artwork. Each project is the upward growth of an individual inquiry, but beneath the surface the root system is connected. Just like a grove of aspen trees is actually a singular organism, I view my art work all sprouting from the same root. I am intentional with my time around each project, getting to know what it needs, how/when it wants to grow, and what attributes, messages, and reflections it brings to light. I attend to a pattern of inquiries that continue to unfold into new projects, new iterations, deeper root systems related to remembering, belonging, resilience, and catharsis.
